At long last, it’s time to rank the MLB closer entrance songs for 2025! There has been a lot of movement around the majors since last year’s rankings, featuring a lot of new faces and some old faces picking new songs. The field has gotten stronger once again, which made these decisions much tougher. Without further ado, let’s dive into this year’s playlist.
NOTE: This is based on the Fangraphs closer depth chart on May 28, 2025.
MLB Closer Entrance Songs: 2025 Playlist
30. SFG: Ryan Walker – Neon Grave by Tyler Braden
Respectfully to Walker and Braden, this is closer to a lullaby than an entrance song. It’s not a bad song, but if you’re trying to fire up a crowd and intimidate your opponents, this isn’t the right choice. This was an easy pick for the bottom of the list.
29. CLE: Emmanuel Clase – Di Di Di by Braulio Fogon
Clase enters 2025 with the same song as the last few years, and it once again checks in towards the bottom of the field. It has a bit more energy than Walker’s choice, but there isn’t much energy to it other than some fast vocals.
28. TB: Pete Fairbanks – Anthem Part Two by blink-182
Fairbanks changed up his selection, but it’s one of the weaker blink-182 options. The energy in this song comes entirely from the guitar, and there’s almost no intimidation factor. It’s an improvement from his 2024 song (ranked 30th), but the bar was set pretty low.
27. KC: Carlos Estévez – WELTiTa by Bad Bunny
Estévez is once again using a Bad Bunny song, which starts out promising, but it doesn’t hit a real climax. There are a few Bad Bunny songs that would make for good entrances, but this just doesn’t have a game-like feel to it.
26. SD: Robert Suarez – Bandoleros By Don Omar and Tego Calderon
Every year, at some point in our MLB closer entrance songs playlist, the field starts to tighten. We’ve already reached that mark at number 26. For as strong as this song’s intro is, the rest of it leaves something to be desired. The sped-up version Suarez uses has an extra drum beat, which adds some much-needed energy. Overall, it’s a big step up and the fans in San Diego seem to love it, as shown by Suarez’s entrance in the playoffs last year.
25. ATL: Raisel Iglesias – Repórtense by Don Omar
Iglesias has chosen a new entrance song every year he’s been a closer. Here we have a stronger Don Omar choice, mostly because of the intro, which sounds pretty intimidating. The vocals are loud and fast, but there isn’t really a climax or chorus. Regardless, this is a solid selection by Iglesias.
24. WAS: Kyle Finnegan – Song 2 by Blur
Finnegan has changed up his selection for the first time since becoming Washington’s closer. Song 2 gets played everywhere, from commercials to sporting events all over the world. It’s a solid choice with high energy, but honestly, it might rank higher if it were just an instrumental, as the lyrics don’t add much.
23. TEX: Luke Jackson – Party Like a Rockstar by SHOP BOYZ
This isn’t a bad selection by Jackson, but it sounds like more of a victory song than an entrance song. Still, it’s a fun choice, and it’s easy to see why it could become popular with fans.
T-21. ARI: Justin Martinez, HOU: Josh Hader – Fireman by Lil Wayne
If we were giving each song a grade, the intro for Fireman gets an A+, but the rest of the song gets a D. Considering the great intro and relievers being called “firemen”, it makes sense that multiple relievers use this song. However, the energy reaches a climax about 30 seconds into the song and never really reaches another level.
20. TOR: Jeff Hoffman – Alive (Nightmare) By Kid Cudi
Previously, Adam Ottavino used this song for his entrance throughout his career. It’s not a bad choice, as it has solid energy and the opening chords sound intimidating. However, the instrumental doesn’t match the intensity of Kid Cudi all that much.
19. DET: Will Vest – Cue Country Roads by Charles Wesley Godwin
Country music doesn’t always do very well in these rankings, but this is a solid choice. The song is supposed to be about how West Virginia University plays “Take Me Home, Country Roads” after every victory. Vest is from Houston and went to Stephen F. Austin – this likely would rank higher if he were from West Virginia or went to WVU.
18. CHW: Steven Wilson – Ten Thousand Fists by Disturbed
The White Sox have sort of a revolving door for their closer’s role, but Wilson looks to be the best option in their bullpen right now. This might be the most average heavy metal song of all time, with heavy guitar and drums being paired with what almost sounds like screaming for the vocals. It’s still hard to go wrong with using a metal song for your entrance.
17. MIL: Trevor Megill – The Four Horsemen by Metallica
Much like Wilson’s choice, this is a pretty average metal song. What gives Megill a leg up is that the lyrics are a little more coherent, and it’s heavier on guitar than it is drums, making it an easier listen. While this might be an over-seven-minute song, the energy stays high for the relevant portion of it.
16. MIA: Anthony Bender – Heavy Metal by Sammy Hagar
We go from heavy metal, the genre, to a song called “Heavy Metal”. The lyrics are intense and intimidating, and Sammy Hagar does his best to make up for the energy that isn’t brought by the instrumental. Overall, this is a solid pick by Bender.
15. BOS: Aroldis Chapman – La Vida Es Un Carnaval by Celia Cruz
The song itself is pretty good, but this entrance is propped up by the montage displayed on the Fenway Park video board, featuring a tribute to Luis Tiant. This may not be intimidating like Chapman on the mound, but it’s catchy and is full of energy.
14. LAA: Kenley Jansen – In the Stone by Earth, Wind, and Fire
Jansen’s choice is quite similar to Chapman’s – they’re both catchy and upbeat – but the trumpets in the intro give it the slight edge. It sounds like Jansen is making a grand entrance to try to get the final three outs of the game. This is also a huge upgrade over Jansen’s 2024 selection, which ranked 27th.
13. COL: Zach Agnos – Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith
Agnos has been one of the few bright spots for the Rockies, assuming the closer’s role just a year after being in High-A. The Rockies don’t have their full playlist on their website, but research turned up that Agnos used Sweet Emotion in the minor leagues, which has been used by others in the past. The intro is intimidating, and while the chorus doesn’t reach a super high energy level, it’s easy to feel the intensity from the guitar.
12. CHC: Daniel Palencia – Gasolina by Daddy Yankee
Palencia has taken over the Cubs’ closer role with his triple-digit fastball, and this song is perfect for a fireballer. It’s fast, intimidating, and very high-energy. The only real knock against this selection is that it isn’t very original, as it’s a bit overplayed, but it’s hard to disagree with Palencia’s decision.
11. NYY: Luke Weaver – Dream Weaver by Gary Wright
Is this song particularly intimidating? No, but the intro sets a mysterious tone, and Weaver gets extra credit for using a song with his name in the title. Plus, the line “I believe you can get me through the night” is perfect for a pitcher trying to finish off an opponent.
10. SEA: Andres Muñoz – Pepas – David Guetta Remix By Farruko, David Guetta
In his second year in these rankings, Andres Muñoz moves up one spot to crack the top 10. The bass drop isn’t all that inspiring, but the energy level starts high and stays high. Plus, look at how electric T-Mobile Park is when Muñoz enters a game.
9. ATH: Mason Miller – Burn It to the Ground by Nickelback
Look, Nickelback isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay, but it’s impossible to deny what a great entrance song this makes. It’s fast, intense, and intimidating, which is perfect for Miller, who has the highest average fastball velocity in the majors. Now, just imagine how electric it would be to see a sold-out stadium going wild when Miller enters a game.
8. CIN: Emilio Pagan – Kingdom by Downstait
If the song is good enough for WWE, then it works for any sport. If we’re really nitpicking, the instrumental lags a little bit behind the vocals, but this is still a fantastic selection by Pagan.
7. LAD: Tanner Scott – Mother by Danzig
Scott moves up a spot from 2024, using the song that was my alarm for a few years. This song is very intimidating, and Glenn Danzig’s vocals build very well with his band through the chorus. The guitar during the song breaks is very strong to boot. This is a near-perfect pick.
6. BAL: Felix Bautista – Omar’s Whistle From The Wire
After Tommy John surgery wiped out Bautista’s 2024 season, it’s Mountain Time again in Baltimore. The whistle, coupled with the floodlights, is a perfect combination for an intimidating entrance. Plus, he’s paying tribute to the city, which makes the choice even better.
5. PHI: Jordan Romano – Tsunami by DVBBS
New team, same song for Romano. In my non-expert opinion, this song features a top-five bass drop of all time. Hopefully, Citizens Bank Park lights up the same way Rogers Centre did when Romano entered games.
4. MIN: Jhoan Duran – Mash-Up of El Incompredido by Farruko and Hot by Daddy Yankee and Pitbull
The mash-up of these two songs works very well, but the Twins make the entrance even better by adding bells when Duran steps out of the bullpen. One note – earlier in the season, Duran also used “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light ‘Em Up)” by Fall Out Boy for his entrance, which is also a great choice. I’ll let you all decide which entrance you like better.
3. STL: Ryan Helsley – Hells Bells by AC/DC
Hells Bells electrified San Diego during Trevor Hoffman‘s career, and for the last four seasons, it’s done the same for Busch Stadium. The best thing the Cardinals have done during Helsley’s tenure as the closer is add a light show to his entrance, which leads right into the bells in the song’s intro. It’s hard to believe this isn’t the top-ranked song, but there are two that are just a little bit better.
2. PIT: David Bednar – Renegade by Styx
It’s great to see Bednar back on his horse after some early-season struggles, because few things electrify PNC Park more than his entrance. He’s a Pittsburgh native, and he uses the song the city loves the most. It’s hard not to get chills whenever he enters a game.
1. NYM: Edwin Díaz – Narco By Blasterjaxx Feat. Timmy Trumpet
To no one’s surprise, for the third time in four seasons, Edwin Díaz tops the list. The only year Díaz wasn’t number one was 2023, when he was injured. The drum beat, leading into the trumpets, and then a perfect bass drop after the chorus is nothing short of perfect. The Mets made the entrance even better when they added a light show to it in 2024. If this doesn’t make you want to run through a brick wall, what will?
