24 Milwaukee Brewers Hits Through Two Games Ties Them for the Fourth Most in Franchise History

Through two games, 11 different Brewers have had hits, and six of them have had multiple-hit performances. Christian Yelich, who has had back-to-back multiple-hit games to begin the year, leads the way with five total hits.

After that, Jackson Chourio, Williams Contreras, and Rhys Hoskins all have three hits. Willy Adames is the lone player with two hits, and then Jake Bauers, Oliver Dunn, Sal Frelick, Joey Ortiz, and Blake Perkins all have one apiece.

In 1996, the Brewers won on Opening Day by plating 15 runs off 22 hits. Chuck Carr and Jose Valentine both had four-hit games, Jeff Cirillo three hits, and then five others had multiple hits that game. A day later, they collected seven hits and lost the game.

The Brewers will take on the Mets on Easter Sunday to wrap up their three-game Opening Weekend series. Their 1996 team collected 11 hits during their third game of the year, so it will be interesting to see if Milwaukee can match or surpass their 40 total hits through three games.
